“I chose to illustrate a rabbit couple harvesting berries. This depicts the auspicious arrival of spring and that transition between scarcity and abundance.”
- Ing Ing Jong, designer at The Perth Mint

Ing Ing is no stranger to the lunar rabbit theme. “I grew up with rabbits, so I am very familiar with their nature. I wanted to show their strength and speed, but also their gentleness,” she says. “In silver, I chose to illustrate the rabbits in spring, symbolising the transition from scarcity to abundance. In gold, I posed the rabbit so its joyful leap matches the elegant curve of the coins.”
A coin crafted to own the tradition and continue the story.
